Good Belly Probiotic Fruit Drink

Good Belly Probiotic Fruit Drink

By Jenny Dean

So, I’ve tried the Blueberry Acai GoodBelly ToGo and Mango GoodBelly ToGo, but now it was time to try the family sized Cranberry Watermelon.  The flavor alone was excellent.  It tasted just like I was drinking watermelon.  It is excellent.  As I stated in earlier posts, the folks at GoodBelly sent us coupons, so we could go buy the product at our local supermarket and try it out.

GoodBelly is named that way because drinking it consistently will help you achieve a balanced digestive system.  How?  GoodBelly probiotic fruit drinks have 20 billion live and active probiotic cultures that help to improve your digestive health and strengthen your immunity.

GoodBelly is dairy-free, soy-free, wheat-free and vegan.

How Does It Work?

GoodBelly gives your body good bacteria that it needs in order to balance the bad bacteria in your system.  As a result, it does wonders for your digestive health.  GoodBelly uses Lactobacillus plantarum299v (Lp299v) and Bifidobacterium lactis (Bi-07), chosen to prove digestive health, regularity and immunity.

GoodBelly by the quart is made with natural and organic fruits and juices.

I really like GoodBelly, especially because I do not care for yogurt.  Finally there is an alternative way of getting my probiotics rather than in yogurt.

GoodBelly is sold at Whole Foods and is priced between $2.00-$5.00/quart.

GET IN MY BELLY- Review on the Good Belly Probiotic Fruit Drink

Good Belly Probiotic Fruit Drink

Good Belly Probiotic Fruit Drink

Post by Amy Dean

On a warm Saturday afternoon in Boulder, Colorado, I went into Whole Foods. I was going in to find a few items and came across the Good Belly drink. It was on sale (2 for $5), so automatically that caught my eye.

Also, with a student budget (I’m a Sophmore at the University of Colorado), it is important for me to watch what I spend and how much use I am going to get out of the product. I am a big mango fan so I was naturally drawn to that particular flavor. I was a little skeptical in trying it because I have had health food drinks in the past that have tasted so awful. But surprisingly, the Good Belly drink tasted really good.

It was a little tart at first, but after another glass, it became a drink that I craved. It comes in a variety of flavors: Cranberry Watermelon, Mango, Black Currant, Blueberry Acai and Pomegranate Blackberry. I am eager to try more of the flavors. It also comes in two types of packaging. The first is a quart container and the other is a to-go style in yogurt looking containers (But, I assure you, it is nothing like yogurt and the consistency is like a drink). I highly recommend this product not only to maintain a healthy digestive system but also because it is great for your health in general.

Mango GoodBelly ToGo

GoodBelly TOGO Mango

GoodBelly TOGO Mango

I decided to try the Mango GoodBelly ToGo product today.  It was quite tasty.

GoodBelly’s ToGo product has 20 Billion probiotics, clinically proven to improve core digestive health and strengthen immunity, and 500mg of Vitamin C!  Probiotics: Lactobacillus Plantarum 299v; Bifidobacteriaum Lactis Bi-07; Lactobaccilus Acidophilus.

GoodBelly TOGO Mango in Water Bottle - Not Shaken Up

GoodBelly TOGO Mango in Water Bottle - Not Shaken Up

As with the Blueberry Acai Flavor, it comes in a convenient package. Since it is a probiotic, it’s goal is to improve core digestive health and to strengthen immunity.  No doubt that doesn’t happen overnight, therefore I cannot comment on the effectiveness of my immunity or digestive health.

The directions on the package state, “Add contents of packet to 6 ounces of water or juice and enjoy.”  As with the Blueberry Acai Flavor, I added it to 16.9 ounces of water.  You’ll notice how it sinks to the bottom (see the photo to the right).  Once you have shaken it up, then it evenly distributes throughout the bottle.  If you do not drink it somewhat quickly, then it will re-settle to the bottom of the bottle.  So we do recommend having a screw top bottle to use when drinking the GoodBelly ToGo packets, so that you don’t have to chug it, if you don’t want to.

GoodBelly TOGO Mango in Water Bottle - Shaken Up

GoodBelly TOGO Mango in Water Bottle - Shaken Up

The taste of the Mango flavor  is more favorable than that of the Blueberry Acai.  The point of these probiotics, however, is not that they taste good but that they help your digestive system!

So if you are looking for an alternative to past methods and drugs you’ve taken for your immunity and digestive health, then you might be interested in trying GoodBelly Probiotics – there are links to purchase it below.

The GoodBelly To Go is dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan.

Buy GoodBelly ToGo:

Case Quantity is $67.50 (there are 6 boxes in a case, each box contains 8 individual packets, or about $1.41/packet)

Box Quantity is $12.50 (each box contains 8 individual packets, or about $1.56/packet)

Suggested Use: One Packet per Day

Blueberry Acai GoodBelly ToGo

GoodBelly ToGo

GoodBelly ToGo

The folks over at GoodBelly sent us some product to try.  We will be covering the product over the next couple of weeks.   Good Belly makes probiotic fruit drinks.

Their ToGo product is packed with 20 Billion probiotics, clinically proven to improve core digestive health and strengthen immunity, and 500mg of Vitamin C!  Probiotics: Lactobacillus Plantarum 299v; Bifidobacteriaum Lactis Bi-07; Lactobaccilus Acidophilus.

First is their GoodBelly To Go.   I tried the Blueberry Acai Flavor.  As you can see, it comes in a very convenient package and even has an area where you can tear it open – eliminating the need for scissors on the go. Since it is a probiotic, it is supposed to improve your core digestive health and strengthen your immunity.  My guess is that I am not going to see results with that aspect all that quickly as I assume it is something that needs to build in your belly overtime!

GoodBelly ToGo in Water Bottle

What GoodBelly ToGo in Water Bottle

The directions say “Add contents of packet to 6 ounces of water or juice and enjoy.”  So I added it to 16.9 ounces of water, and then screwed on the top and shook it up.  I think you really need to have a top to screw on for this To Go product.  It all sinks to the bottom and you need to occasionally shake it back up!

I do not mind the taste, but also do not like it, if that makes sense.  I mean I wouldn’t think of going back to it immediately.  But I think my taste is a matter of opinion, and someone else might quite like it.  Regardless, if it’s purpose is for probiotics, then it is absolutely easy to drink and convient to drink for that purpose.

The GoodBelly To Go is dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan.

They sell it on their website by the case or by the box:

Case Quantity is $67.50
(there are 6 boxes in a case, each box contains 8 individual packets, so that about $1.41/packet)

Box Quantity is $12.50
(each box contains 8 individual packets, so that’s about $1.56/packet)

Suggested Use: One Packet per Day

Please do contact us before you submit a guest post.  We would like to approve the topic and the idea ahead of time.

Some things to consider:

  • Post should be at least 400 words
  • Post should have something to do with antioxidant fruits
  • Post shouldn’t be salesy, but educational and explain the benefits of your product and why its so great.

We will also welcome a guest post if you are just interested in doing a little research and then writing about it.  We will give you credit and provide a link to your website or blog, if you’d like.

What Is The Best Juicer?

December 12th, 2009

If you’re considering buying a juicer, you might be wondering, What is the best juicer? You are not alone. Choosing a juicer, like any other electronic is sometimes a difficult decision due to the amount of options out there. Like with most things, figuring out which juicer is right for you is the key in choosing a juicer. Of course, different folks desire different things, therefore, here is a list of items to consider when deciding what is the best juicer for you.

  • Type
  • Ease of Cleanup
  • Juice Quality
  • Juice Yield
  • Contiguous Juicing
  • Does it Juice Wheatgrass
  • Feed Chute Shape
  • Feed Chute Size

What Is The Best Juicer – Juicer Comparison Chart

Juicers are ideal for anyone that is nutritionally conscious about their daily diet. Fresh and raw fruits and vegetables are essential in our daily diet to help with overall need of vitamins and minerals as well as digestive health. Cooking or canning fruits and vegetables can destroy some of the nutrients that are found in raw foods. Believe it or not, three 8-oz. glasses of juice can provide the same benefits of vitamins, minerals, bioflavinoids and enzymes that are in three pounds of fruits and vegetables!

Many drink a glass of juice before a meal because juice appeases the appetite and therefore eliminates the desire for high-calorie foods, starches and foods high in sugar.

Types of Juicers:

  • Centrifugal Juicers
  • Centrifugal Ejection Juicers
  • Masticating Juicer
  • Manual Press Juicer
  • Single Auger Juicers
  • Dual Stage Single Auger Juicers
  • Twin Gear Press

Review Juicers

Two very popular juicers are Jack LaLaines Juicer or the As Seen On TV Juicer.

Once you have purchased your juicer, you’ll want to know some fabulous recipes for juicers. To make sure your juice is cool and refreshing, be sure to start with chilled fruit and veggies. Once you’ve made your juice, be sure to consume it within 24 hours for optimal nutrition and taste. Here is a list antioxidant-fruits.com has compiled:

The Healthy Chocolate is a company that makes High in Antioxidants Dark Chocolate products. Their products are high in fiber, and are rich in unprocessed, non-alkalized non-fermented Cacao powder. The also have a high ORAC value. You can watch a video of the product to learn more about it.

The Compensation Plan takes a while to download, but it has all the information you need, including the residual potential. Auto-ship is based on wholesale prices. You just have to purchase one case ($110.00 plus S&H) every 4 weeks on autoship to receive wholesale prices. It is one of the highest antioxidant-rich food you can consume.

Terressa says, “My husband and I have had awesome results with Xocai Healthy Chocolate. He was able to get off of his high blood pressure medication, I lost 13 pounds in about 2 months, and many other benefits we have been able to see.”

As far as Antioxidant-Fruits.com is concerned, we were impressed with the taste of the product–we tried the Nuggets, Power Squares and the cookies. All very good and all very dark chocolate tasting! The the cookies were more of chewy granola type of taste, but tasty nonetheless. We didn’t receive enough product to figure out if it really encourages weight loss or reduces high blood pressure, but we have no reason to doubt Terressa either. We understand that natural options like Xocai take awhile to make improvements in your body and you will not witness such a change overnight.

Here is a list of their products:

Example Product Review

December 11th, 2009

Here is an example product review of MonaVie:

Antioxidant-Fruits.com received a request to review MonaVie’s Original Blend Juice.

Another product with the renowned açaí berry? There are many out there. Especially since the berry has been featured on Oprah as the world’s No. 1 super-food (after all, it is known to contain antioxidants, phytonutrients, essential fatty acids (Omega 3), amino acids, vitamins and minerals, complex carbohydrates, dietary fiber and trace minerals just to name a few), and seems to be popping up all over the place, like in Häagen-Dazs ReserveTM’s new Brazilian Açaí Berry Sorbet.

Interested in an example product review? If so, contact Antioxidant-fruits.com!

MonaVie, a company out of Salt Lake City, Utah, that makes a special blend of 19 different fruits and berries, including the açaí berry.

MonaVie has studied the benefits of açaí berries and refined the production of their juice to get the maximum benefit from this exotic berry. MonaVie’s juice production is a three step process: 1) Harvesting, 2) Processing and 3) Formulation and Bottling. The MonaVie juice process begins with the harvesting of the berry deep in the Brazilian Amazon—removing only the berries and leaving the tree for future harvesting and safeguarding the rainforest. Since the açaí berry is a delicate fruit, much of its vitamins and nutrients can be lost within 24 hours after harvesting. MonaVie takes special care to freeze the berry, and then reduces the berry into a fine freeze dried powder—this process by MonaVie which is patent pending is called OptiACAITM.

It is through this patent pending technique that MonaVie is able to capture the amazing benefits that only the fresh açaí berry can offer, something no other product can match. For bottling, MonaVie uses flash pasteurization rather than kettle pasteurization; therefore capturing the fresh flavors, vibrant colors and dense nutrient content of the juice blend.
While the açaí berry is the gemstone of the MonaVie blend, MonaVie also features 18 other super fruits selected for their distinctive and beneficial properties. Recognizable fruits such as apricot, banana, blueberry, cranberry, kiwi, pear, pomegranate, prune, purple grapes, and white grapes, all contribute to the unique blend of nutrients, minerals, and anti-oxidants of MonaVie.

Interested in an example product review? If so, contact Antioxidant-fruits.com!

A single serving of MonaVie provides vitamin C, iron, potassium, dietary fiber, electrolytes (essential for maintaining fluid levels and preventing dehydration), calcium, phosphorus, folate, polyphenols, tannins, anthocyanins, antioxidants vitamin A, folic acid, plant Phytochemicals, flavonoids (which are phytonutrients), resveratrol, saponins, and pterostilbene (a powerful antioxidant).

What really makes MonaVie’s unique blend stand out, however, is the more exotic and less known fruits the accentuate the power of the açaí berry: acerola cherry, aronia, bilberry, camu camu, lychee, nashi pears (Asian Pears), passion fruit, and Wolfberry (Goji).

Acerola cherry from Brazil is used for its high content of vitamin C. Aronia, a native American bush, has been reported to contain antioxidants, polyphenols, minerals and vitamins and very high levels (over five times greater than those found in cranberries) of anthocyanins and flavonoids.

Bilberry’s strong antioxidant composition makes it an excellent free radical scavenger, which helps counteract cell damage that leads to premature aging and disease. Bilberries have been used in the treatment of menstrual cramps, alleviating ulcers, varicose veins and angina. The flavonoids found in bilberries thin the blood and prevent fragility of the capillaries.

Camu-camu found throughout the Amazon has the highest recorded amount of natural vitamin C known on the planet. It is a significant source of potassium and has a full complement of minerals and amino acids that can aid in the absorption of vitamin C.

Lychee, originating in South China, is a very good source of Vitamin C, riboflavin, potassium and copper.

Nashi pears (Asian Pears), originating in East Asia, are a great source of dietary fiber, and also are very high in potassium and other essential minerals. Native to Brazil, Passion Fruit is a good source of vitamins A and C, as well as potassium and iron.

Lastly, the the Wolfberry (Goji), native of China, contains 19 types of amino acids and 21 trace minerals. It has more beta-carotene than carrots and nearly as much Vitamin C as oranges and protein as bee pollen.

MonaVie brings together all these 19 fruits together in one drink to create an awesomely powerful blend of essential daily vitamins and minerals. These 19 fruits are extremely rich in antioxidants among other essential elements. These strong antioxidants go to battle against free-radical molecules that invade the body, helping to combat premature aging and even help prevent many serious diseases.

While MonaVie is in the process of doing several studies on the benefits of the drink, the company will not release any results until all are confirmed. However, one does not have to look far to find many testimonials from consumers, stating that the drink has helped them with joint issues, lowered their cholesterol, build up their immune system and much more.
MonaVie offers three versions of the MonaVie product: MonaVie Original (the original blend of the 19 fruits), MonaVie Active (the original blend of the 19 fruits plus the additional benefits of glucosamine and esterified fatty acids to help maintain healthy joint function) and MonaVie Gel (a on-the-go gel with all the benefits of M Original—great for travelers, marathon runners, tri-athletes and the like).

Antioxidant-Fruits.com evaluated the MonaVie Active blend. It has a tart taste, but a very tasty one at that. It tastes like a berry blend – blueberries mostly. You only take about 2-4 ounces/day, so there isn’t much to test. However, I was impressed with the energy I received after taking it.

Interested in joining MonaVie? Sign up to be a MonaVie distributor or simply to buy the product wholesale. Sign up is free in 2009!
